Primary Alcohol Group

AGE GROUP: Adults
LOCATION: In-person, Plymouth Meeting
DAY/TIME: Three evenings per week

Alcohol triggers are pervasive in society, adding to the difficulty for people who are trying to steer clear of alcohol as they struggle to transition back to their normal routine.

The Primary Alcohol Group was created to help adults who realize that alcohol has negatively impacted their lives and seek relapse-resistant sobriety. Participants learn about their personal triggers and develop strategies to cope with stress and uncomfortable feelings.

Topics covered include disease management, cravings management and anti-craving medications, coping skills for early recovery, and detailed plans for relapse prevention.

Most participants attend group meetings for six to eight weeks, depending on their ability to maintain abstinence and other progress with any co-occurring symptoms.
