Family Recovery & Substance Use Disorder Treatment: Webinar for Behavioral Health Professionals on May 16

ETHOS Institute will present a clinical training for behavioral health professionals on May 16 that explores the vital role family involvement plays in the treatment of addiction, highlighting strategies for engaging family members as active participants in their loved one’s recovery journey.

Participants earn 1.5 CE credit hours. Register here.

The webinar will be presented by ETHOS Treatment Clinician Pat Brown, LCSW. Pat brings extensive experience in addiction counseling and intervention services. He is dedicated to fostering positive change by collaborating with individuals and families on relationship repair, communication improvement, boundary establishment, and promoting healthy life decisions.

Attendees will learn evidence-based approaches to family therapy, including how to assess family dynamics, establish healthy communication patterns, and address dysfunctional behaviors that may contribute to the cycle of addiction.
We will cover practical techniques for clinicians to help families set appropriate boundaries, provide emotional support, and become part of the healing process.

Emphasis will also be placed on how to treat the family as a unit, addressing issues such as codependency, enabling, and the emotional impact of addiction on all members of the household. All with the goal of establishing full family recovery.

By fostering a collaborative, family-centered approach, clinicians can empower families to contribute positively to their loved one’s recovery, while also providing them with the tools and support they need to heal themselves.

Ultimately, this training will help professionals understand how to treat not only the individual suffering from addiction but the entire family system, creating a foundation for long-term recovery and improved relational dynamics.
