Lydia Spence is a Licensed Social Worker with eight years of clinical experience working in the substance use and mental health field, providing person-centered, strengths-based care. She holds a Master’s in Social Services from Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. Her work experience has included college counseling and outreach as well as inpatient and outpatient settings. Lydia is well-versed in the challenges associated with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, self-harm, trauma, and LGBTQ+ issues.

Lydia’s practice is influenced by psychodynamic and strengths-based perspectives, and she utilizes a relational and attachment-based lens. She believes in the value of the therapeutic relationship and draws on a variety of modalities individualized to each person she works with, including ACT, DBT, EMDR, IFS and expressive art. Lydia uses an integrated approach to therapy that is both trauma-informed and person-centered to meet each individual where they are in a collaborative, compassionate, and gender affirming environment.
