Substance Use Disorder
Advantages of Intensive Outpatient Care
After stepping down from the more structured environment of a residential facility, the increased freedom of an outpatient setting can feel unsettling, even a bit scary. ETHOS Intensive outpatient programs provide the structure and support that our patients need to thrive at this stage. Here are a few of the key advantages to outpatient treatment:
Self-efficacy. Participants in an outpatient program have the opportunity to develop a greater sense of self-efficacy, or the belief that they have the ability to successfully handle life’s challenges. A sense of self-efficacy comes from meeting the responsibilities of day-to-day life while continuing to meet commitments to a recovery program.
Independence. Intensive Outpatient Programing provides more independence than inpatient or residential care. While this independence can be intimidating at first, it also allows patients to engage in everyday life through relationships, social engagements, work, or school. ETHOS treatment provides education, therapy and insight to learn how to handle the emotions and stresses of daily life while maintaining their commitment to recovery.
Targeted Small Group Support. ETHOS Intensive outpatient offers small group experiences to aid in stabilization and discovering their foundation for recovery through the use of relational repair. Small groups foster a sense of community, engaging each person to help heal one another through the use of empathy, attunement and shared similar experiences.
Convenience. West Chester PA is the heart of Chester County, easy access to 202, 95, 76, route 30 and public transportation. While Plymouth Meeting provides a location in central Montgomery County easily accessible by 476 and the PA Turnpike.
Collaborative. With strong community connections, the ETHOS treatment team can create individualized referrals to local established providers.

FAMILY OR PHONE CONSULTATION
Often a family member is the first responder when an individual is in crisis. Overwhelmed with the lack of resources and information, families will find solace in calling ETHOS. We are here to help you to navigate foundational steps for your loved one. We are only a phone call away.
For many, the first step in healing is identifying the root of the symptom. ETHOS offers a comprehensive, evidence-based evaluation, aiding to identify family of origin issues, diagnostic criteria and framing contextual life events that could be exacerbating current symptoms.
Individual sessions in a confidential and comfortable environment are frequently the first-line of treatment. Often individual sessions can be less intimidating than group or family therapy. Clients are welcome to participate in individual sessions with a licensed, experienced clinician at ETHOS.
Research suggests that family therapy is the single largest indicator for positive outcomes. Families can expect a comprehensive evaluation of the long-term issues and patterns they have been facing with their unique family dynamic. Additionally, families will collaboratively set familial goals to assist in family healing.
