David Meyer | LSW
David is a mental health clinician and licensed social worker who strives to support his clients in gaining meaning, purpose, and recognition of their own intrinsic self-worth. Compassion, service to a greater cause and human connection are the values that David bases the success of his practice on. His extensive experience as a mental health therapist coupled with his experience as a yoga instructor, provide David with a holistic perspective on interventions that incorporate mind, body, and spirit. He has worked in multiple levels of care from recovery housing to acute psychiatric treatment. While working in acute psychiatric treatment, David has supported patients during psychiatric crisis experiencing an array of symptoms from the extreme lows of depression to the extreme highs of mania in addition to struggling with anything from suicidal ideations to active psychosis.
David uses an eclectic approach, through the lens of trauma informed care, and incorporates knowledge from Mindfulness to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with the understanding that there is no such thing as a “one size fits all” treatment process. David completed his Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at West Chester University and his Master’s degree in Social Services at Bryn Mawr College. He is a certified yoga instructor with over 500 hours of training and 1000+ hours of teaching. David is committed to the learning process and continued education as a means for personal and professional growth.
Outside of his professional life, David enjoys hikes with his dog (Tulsi), gardening and feeding his chickens while maintaining his own personal yoga practice. David believes that recovery starts the moment one begins to make positive change. He is willing to meet you wherever you are in your recovery process and would be honored to support you on your journey to wellness and stability. David is now seeing clients individually as well as in IOP.
